MEN’S RACE COMMENTS
Andy is back !
2006 winner and former Robie Creek Champion; Andy Stauffer won the RWTA 5000 on a perfect running morning at Julia Davis Park. Andy Stauffer of the Greater Boise Running Club ran a great tactical race, staying with 2 time RWTA champion Kevin Sheehy for the first 2 miles, Rhet Hulbert, also from the GBRC ran few yards behind them. With one mile to go, Andy Stauffer started to move away from Sheehy and Hulbert. Andy showed great form and speed while finishing first, Hulbert second and Sheehy third. A great display of speed and good running form of these three GBRC athletes. The Greater Boise Running Club took the first top three overall places.

41 year old marvel; Eric Forte, looked fast and solid, always close to the GBRC top athletes and did not fade when the front pack accelerated for the finish, Forte took 4th. Place overall and was the first master. He was followed by a strong Justin Glass, Team Apex Dave Ross and Aggies top Master; Jon Hancock to capture the first seven overall places. Dave Ross just ran the Payette Lake 30 K run two weeks ago finishing 10th Overall and second in his age group.

Among the 19 and under year olds, 15 year old; Kyle Mc Morrow of Meridian, ran fast and
steady, showing great form and technique, Kyle was followed by 14 year old; Brad Tinney of
Nampa, Brad also showed great form and good speed, it was wonderful to have these two young
and promising athletes at the race.

In the 20 to 29 year old bracket, Mike Shuman’s team runner; Jason Hudson finished first,
running ahead of NYK’s; John Lloyd and Scott Simson.

Among the Masters, Eric Forte ran closely to the front and never gave up his 4th. Overall position, Forte looked fast and strong all the way, he was followed by Dave Ross from Team Apex, then, Boise Aggies Jon Hancock and Jens Harlander. Reebok’s Team wonder Extra master; Kevin Wilkinson 53, took first place in the extra masters division and John Murray ran first in the 60 and over.

LADIES RACE COMMENTS
Christine Olen wins again !
North West top female master athlete;Christine Olen of the Boise Aggies, won her second RWTA
5000. Christine, ran neck to neck with Team Apex’s marvel; Monica Runningwolf, for the first mile. Olen and Runningwolf showed great form, crossing the first mile in just under 5:50, Christine Olen, maintained the pace for the second mile, opening a 30 yard gap by mile 2, that was before she unleashed an unforgiving last mile kick to take her to the tape in 18:17.58.
In the process, Christine Olen broke the Female Masters course record and took the 130.00 usd
award for her win and a course record bonus. Monica Runningwolf was second and GBRC’s great runner Kelly Stauffer took third. It was wonderful to see these 3 top female athletes together, Christine Olen has been very active racing at national level mainly on the track, Monica Runningwolf has just won the famous Payette Lake Run at Mc Call (30 K OR 18.6 MILER) and Kelly Stauffer from the GBRC is coming back strong to training after maternity leave.

Among the 19 year old and under; 14 year old, Tatiana Waltz was first, keeping a strong pace
from the start, she sped up to the finish to be first among the youngsters. She was followed by 9 year amazing runner; Myklaine Ketterling of Boise, 11 year old strong Emily Mc Devitt of Boise was third, 10 year old Marvel Sara Tinney of Nampa was 4th. and another strong youngster; Jamie Popoff of Meridian came back to run strong and never gave up to finish 5th. Our sincere congratulations and admiration to these youngsters who worked really hard in this race.

In the 20 to 29 year old bracket, Bonnie Dreschor ran really well to win her age group and
Jessica Anderson ran a courageous and steady first 5 k event ever finishing second.

In the 30 to 39 year group, Team Apex Monica Runningwolf was first, Kelly Stauffer of the GBRC second and Boise Aggies strong athlete Diane Baconguis was third.

New Master fast Christine Olen was first in the 40 to 49 year olds posting a new course record,
